
Lucknow News: The state capital Lucknow is going to host a historic sports event on the occasion of UP Day on 24 January 2026. India’s first big international freestyle wrestling show Ranbhoomi 1.0: Clash of Baahubali will be held at the city’s prestigious KD Singh Babu Stadium. The mega event powered by Wrestling World of India (WWB) will see world renowned foreign and Indian wrestlers clash, giving wrestling fans some high-octane action.

WWB Founder Raj Singh, South Africa’s WWB/WWB Chairman Mark Beal, Indian wrestler Tiger Rapta, Co-Founder Anita Singh and ASSOCHAM Co-Chairman Hassan Yacoub were present at the announcement program of the big event in Lucknow. Chief organizer Raj Singh said that this event is an attempt to give a modern and entertaining form to the ancient tradition of wrestling. Mark Beal has praised India’s sports culture.
Spoke on the reality of freestyle wrestling
On the question of whether professional wrestling is real or fake, chief organizer Raj Singh clarified that the blame is definitely placed on professional wrestling, I would say that it is a great mixed form of entertainment and sports. He stressed that this is not just a show. Here too players suffer serious injuries. Here too he works out regularly and undergoes surgery. These wrestlers also require top level fitness.
Plan to open institute in Lucknow
Under the leadership of Raj Singh and Anita Singh, the event will not be limited to entertainment only. The organizers announced that after this event, there are plans to set up a Freestyle Professional Wrestling Institute in Lucknow. With this initiative, the youth of Uttar Pradesh and the country will get new opportunities and proper training in the field of professional wrestling. Ticket sales are expected to start soon, after which spectators will be able to be a part of the historic Ranbhoomi 1.0.
