Mumbai, January 13 (IANS). Nearly 97 percent of human resource leaders (HR leaders) working in India’s technology sector believe that the way of working will change almost completely by the year 2027. At that time, most of the work will be done by humans and AI together, rather than AI being used occasionally.

NASSCOM and Indeed reports say that 20 to 40 percent of the work in technology companies is already being done with the help of AI. This report is based on a survey of HR heads of more than 120 technology companies in the country.

According to the report, about 45 percent people said that now more than 40 percent of software development work is being done by AI.

Ketaki Karnik, head of research at NASSCOM, said that as the use of AI is increasing, it has become very important to learn new skills and enhance capabilities. With this, employees will be able to work better and companies will get good results.

The report says that AI is no longer just a supporting tool, but has become an important part of everyday work, functioning and decision-making process. The participation of AI in intelligent automation (39 percent) and business process management (37 percent) is increasing rapidly.

However, more than half said that sometimes the results provided by AI are incomplete or of low quality. Therefore, human supervision over AI is still very important.

According to the report, the best synergy is being seen in critical tasks such as scope determination, system infrastructure and data model design.

In the coming two to three years, simple repetitive tasks, such as boilerplate code generation and unit test creation, will mostly be done through AI.

According to the report, now companies are paying more attention to skills than degrees at the time of recruitment. 85 percent of managers prefer skill-based hiring over certificates and 98 percent said the need for hybrid and multidisciplinary skills.

At the same time, about 83 percent of HR heads said that they have created new positions related to AI by changing their working methods.

79 percent of companies consider retraining their employees as the most important strategy for adopting AI.

According to the report, about 80 percent of organizations are working in a hybrid manner, with most employees working from the office three or more days a week.
