New Delhi, June 28 (IANS). Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has said that the upcoming Amber and Ascent electronics manufacturing facilities will open a new chapter in India’s electronics sector. He said advanced printed circuit boards (PCBs) will strengthen the country’s electronics ecosystem and enhance India’s global competitiveness.
“A new chapter in India’s electronics manufacturing. Amber and Ascent Electronics Manufacturing Plant will manufacture advanced printed circuit boards, strengthening India’s electronics ecosystem and global competitiveness,” Vaishnav said in a post on social media platform X.
He further said, “Every PCB manufactured here will save foreign exchange, strengthen the rupee and improve India’s balance of payments.”
The minister said this after laying the foundation stone of projects in Yamuna City, Jewar along with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. These projects include Ascent-K Circuit’s Rs 3,250 crore advanced printed circuit board manufacturing facility, a joint venture with South Korea’s KCC, which will make high-density and multi-layer PCBs for the electronics industry.
Amber Enterprises will separately invest Rs 3,500 crore to set up a manufacturing facility for HVAC components and PCB assembly.
Vaishnav had earlier said that India currently imports PCBs worth about Rs 40,000 crore every year and increasing domestic manufacturing capacity will significantly reduce the country’s import dependence.
He also highlighted the rapidly developing infrastructure ecosystem in the Jewar region and said that the operational Noida International Airport, better connectivity through the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor and the proposed Delhi-Lucknow-Varanasi Bullet Train project are making the region an attractive destination for global investors.
The minister said the emerging industrial ecosystem, supported by modern infrastructure and manufacturing investment, will help make India a major electronics manufacturing hub, while also enhancing local production capacity and generating employment.
