New Delhi, June 10 (IANS). The central government will organize the next roadshow to attract investment in coal and lignite gasification projects on June 11 in Hyderabad. Earlier a roadshow was organized in New Delhi. This information was given by the Coal Ministry on Wednesday.
The ministry said in a statement that the overwhelming response and active participation during the last event demonstrated the growing confidence of industry stakeholders in India’s coal gasification ecosystem and highlighted the significant opportunities emerging in this strategic sector.
Further said that this roadshow will act as an important platform to discuss policy support, technological innovations, investment opportunities and project implementation strategies. It will bring together a platform of policy makers, industrialists, technology providers and investors to find collaborative avenues to accelerate the development of coal and lignite gasification projects across the country.
The event is expected to further strengthen engagement of stakeholders, facilitate strategic partnerships and create a strong ecosystem for coal gasification in India. Through these initiatives, the Coal Ministry is committed to promoting innovation, encouraging industry participation and pursuing the Government’s vision of a self-reliant India by enhancing energy security, sustainable use of resources and industrial growth.
According to the ministry, Union Coal and Mines Minister G. Kishan Reddy will be present as the chief guest at the Hyderabad Roadshow while Minister of State for Coal and Mines Satish Chandra Dubey will be the special guest.
Coal gasification is a revolutionary technology that converts coal into synthesis gas (syngas). It can be used to produce value-added products such as methanol, ammonium nitrate, synthetic natural gas and various industrial chemicals. Recognizing its strategic importance, the Government of India has taken several policy initiatives and incentive measures to promote coal gasification to enhance energy security, reduce import dependence and diversify the use of domestic coal resources.
