New Delhi, June 14 (IANS). The foundation stone of MSME Technology Center will be laid on June 15 in Gaya, Bihar. The cost of this center which will transform the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) landscape of South Bihar and Magadh region is Rs 170 crore. This information was given by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises on Sunday.
Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will participate in the bhoomi pujan of this MSME Technology Centre.
In the information given by the Ministry, it was told that this MSME Technology Center will be built in Khizarsarai, Gaya. Of the total cost, approximately Rs 86 crore will be spent on civil construction works and Rs 84 crore will be spent on plant and machinery.
This MSME Technology Center will be developed on 20 acres of land provided by the state government. Its built-up area will be approximately 16,800 square meters and will have a production block, training block, utility block, administrative block, multipurpose hall, hostel and accommodation for staff. This center will cater to the core areas of General Engineering, Heavy Engineering and Textile Testing to meet the needs of MSMEs/Industries in this sector.
The ministry further informed that this center will serve MSMEs in Gayaji, Aurangabad, Nawada, Nalanda, Jehanabad and Munger districts, providing them with advanced manufacturing technologies, industry-ready workforce and necessary technical and business advisory services to enable them to expand, innovate and compete globally.
The Government informed that the MSME Ministry is operating a nationwide network of Technology Centers and Extension Centers across the country to promote conducive environment and enhance the competitiveness of MSMEs. Over the years, these centers have played a vital role in developing indigenous capabilities and taking forward the Self-reliant India initiative. These centers further the national goals of technological self-reliance and sustainable industrial development in line with the Government of India’s vision of a self-reliant, globally competitive manufacturing ecosystem, besides promoting MSMEs.
