Nice/New Delhi, June 14 (IANS) Ahead of the inauguration of the India Innovates Summit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with select investors and venture capital leaders from India, France and several other countries.
This innovation-focused summit will be jointly launched by Prime Minister Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron.
This event will bring together leading startups, investors, entrepreneurs and technology people. They will discuss opportunities for collaboration, investment and innovation-based partnerships between India, France and the broader global ecosystem.
This conversation with investors is taking place at a time when India and France want to deepen cooperation in the field of emerging technology, innovation and entrepreneurship under their ‘Special Global Strategic Partnership’.
The ‘Bharat Innovates Summit’ is expected to become an important platform to promote mutual investment and strengthen ties between the startup ecosystems of both the countries.
Prime Minister Modi and President Macron are also expected to hold bilateral talks in Nice, in which they will review all aspects of India-France relations.
The talks are likely to focus mainly on innovation, technology, trade, defense cooperation and broader strategic issues, reflecting the scope of growing cooperation between the two countries.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit to France will last from June 13 to June 18, in which he will visit three major cities – Nice, Evian and Paris.
Additionally, Prime Minister Modi interacted with members of the Indian community in Nice soon after his arrival in France.
“A memorable welcome from the Indian community in Nice. Even though they are many kilometers away from their country, the bond of our expatriate community with India is stronger than ever,” Prime Minister Modi wrote on social media platform
Earlier, upon reaching Nice, the Prime Minister had shared information about his visit to France in a post on Twitter and said that his programs would be held in Nice, Evian and Paris.
Prime Minister Modi said, “I have just reached Nice. Apart from Nice, this trip to France also includes programs in Evian and Paris.”
