Bengaluru, October 23 (IANS). This time New Delhi is going to host the country’s largest science, technology and innovation conference ‘Emerging Science, Technology and Innovation Conclave (ESTIC-2025)’.
The event is designed to bring together scientists, policy-makers, industry and innovators to set a technology roadmap towards the vision of ‘Developed India 2047’.
The program will be inaugurated by the Prime Minister and its main objective is to encourage collaboration in the field of science and innovation in India.
ISRO Chairman Dr V Narayanan shared the progress of India’s space missions in the press conference and said that such national events play an important role in strengthening the scientific coordination of the country.
He said, “ESTIC-2025 is a platform that will bring together all agencies involved in science and technology. Missions like Gaganyaan and Chandrayaan are not just the achievement of ISRO, but the collective success of the entire scientific ecosystem of India.”
Dr. Narayanan said that preparations for India’s first human space mission ‘Gaganyaan’ are almost complete.
“About 85 to 90 percent of the sub-system level activities have been completed. Now we are doing integrated test and software validation,” he said.
The first three unmanned flights will be launched under the Gaganyaan mission to ensure the reliability of all safety systems. After this a manned mission will be sent.
He also reminded that the names of four astronauts selected for this mission were announced by the Prime Minister in 2023. His training is still continuing intensively. At present he has been kept away from public life so that he can remain completely focused on the mission.
Dr. Narayanan informed that ISRO has recently received the ‘Bluebird’ communication satellite and it is being prepared for launch.
“The launch date will be announced by the Prime Minister and we aim to complete it by the end of this year,” he said.
Also giving information about Chandrayaan Mission-4, he said, “Preparations for Chandrayaan-4 have started. This mission will further strengthen India’s lunar exploration capabilities.”
He said, “All three missions Gaganyaan, Chandrayaan and Bluebird will prove to be milestones towards India’s space self-reliance.”
This conference is being organized by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), in which many scientific institutions including ISRO, DRDO, MeitY, ICMR will participate.
This event will be held under the guidance of the Office of the Principal Scientific Advisor to the Government of India.
The conclave will include lectures by 7 Nobel laureates and global scientists, high-level panel discussions chaired by the Principal Scientific Advisor, 11 thematic sessions covering topics such as AI, Quantum Technology, Blue Economy, Advanced Manufacturing, Energy and Climate Change, Space Technology, etc.
Also, more than 40 deep-tech startups will showcase their innovations and 100 young scientists and engineers will present their research posters.
He said that India’s scientific journey will no longer be limited to laboratories only, but will move towards a new era of innovation, employment and global competition.
