New Delhi. The new GST rates came into force from today. Because of this, the price of everyday and needed things has decreased. Due to the new GST rates, the prices of TV, fridge, AC, washing machine and dishwasher have also reduced significantly, but the price of mobile phones, computers and laptops will have no effect in the new GST rates. People will have to buy mobile phones and laptops at the same price like the first.

Mobile phones and laptops have already been charging 18 percent GST. The GST Council has kept mobile phones and laptops at 18 per cent in the latest GST rates. Along with this, the central government also gives the benefit of PLI i.e. production linked incentive to mobile phones and laptop making companies. Due to which government liability is reduced on these companies. Because of this, the GST Council has not taken any step on reducing the price of mobile and laptop. Mobile and laptop making companies offer gifts to the people every year or twice. There is also a similar discount in the festival season.

All the food items in GST have now been made very cheap. The things that were at the rate of 12 per cent have now been brought to zero and 5 per cent. Whereas, all of the 28 percent items are now getting 18 percent GST. Insurance has also been given relief to the common people by freeing GST. 30 life -saving medicines have also been freed from GST. GST has also decreased on a small car, bike. At the same time, the government has also benefited the farmers by 5 % of GST on tractors and fertilizers. Apart from this, the central government has already increased the income tax limit to 12 lakh annually. PM Narendra Modi has said that the countrymen will save Rs 2.50 lakh crore due to increasing income tax limit and reduction in GST rates.
