New Delhi, February 20 (IANS). Google CEO Sundar Pichai also attended the India AI Impact Summit. During his address at the summit, Pichai said that India is going to walk an extraordinary path with AI. We are at the beginning of a time of great progress and new discoveries, but the best results are not guaranteed.
The Google CEO said, “I shared some thoughts on this special moment with AI. I said that we are at the beginning of a period of tremendous progress and new discoveries, but the best results are not guaranteed. We must work together to ensure that the benefits of AI are available to everyone, everywhere. The US-India partnership has an important role to play. Google is proud to serve as a connection point between them. “
Sundar Pichai further added, “We have teams in both countries working seamlessly on some of our most urgent tasks. Innovations starting in India, like Google Pay, are making products better for people around the world. I believe India is going to chart an extraordinary path with AI and we are supporting it with a full-stack commitment, including products, skilling and infrastructure.”
He said, “We are working on building AI products and solutions for Indian consumers and businesses. To strengthen India’s amazing developer community, we have already deployed 22 GEMMA models in AI Coach and we are working closely with the government to make AI applications impactful in the real world, whether it is providing timely monsoon forecasts to farmers, helping healthcare workers screen for diseases like diabetic retinopathy. Whether it’s making information and services available in more languages, our commitment is to reinvent the way people use search. Indian users are among the biggest adopters of voice and visual search in the world.
The Google CEO said, “Our scam detection features, which work across Search and Lens, are used more in India than anywhere else. The Gemini app is growing rapidly around the world, and is available in 10 languages spoken in India, and YouTube supports a vibrant ecosystem of Indian content creators who share music, arts and culture with the world.”
Additionally, exhibitor Katherine Miller Weber from London said, “We were very impressed by the organization in Delhi and the huge turnout of people in the exhibition hall where we were representing our organization to all the attendees at the AI Summit. It has been incredible to see the participation not just from India but from delegates from all over the world.”
Natarajan Chandrasekaran, Chairman, Tata Group, said, “I think this is a great summit where we are able to showcase not only all our initiatives, plans, the vision of all the important leaders around the world and all the political leaders, but most importantly, the energy, AI vision and what India can do.”
