New Delhi, June 29 (IANS). The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India on Monday announced that it has added five startups. These startups will develop Artificial Intelligence (AI) and sustainability-based solutions aimed at improving company operational efficiency, customer experience and business processes.
The selected startups include Minimines, Easework AI, Servum AI, Siftly and Codemate AI. All of them are winners of the fifth batch of the Maruti Suzuki Incubation Program (MSIP), which is run in partnership with NSRCEL, the startup incubator of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bengaluru.
Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maruti Suzuki, said the company has long been working with startups to develop practical solutions to real business challenges.
He said, “We are pleased to partner with five more startups. Of these, Minimines will help us recycle our end-of-life batteries in a safe manner, while the remaining four startups will support us in increasing customer engagement and making our business processes more efficient.”
According to the company, Minimines will develop solutions for eco-friendly recycling of end-of-life lithium-ion batteries and extracting the valuable metals present in them.
Easework AI will completely automate the procurement process of indirect consumables with the help of agentic AI.
Sarvam AI will create multilingual generative AI agents that will help them better communicate with customers across multiple channels.
Siftly will work on increasing the company’s brand visibility through generative AI, while Codemate AI will develop AI-based solutions that make software application development faster and more effective for business operations.
Maruti Suzuki said that its incubation program was started in August 2020. It aims to promote startups developing technology-based solutions for the future mobility and automobile sector.
Under this initiative, NSRCEL identifies talented early-stage startups and provides them mentorship as well as the benefit of IIM Bangalore’s entrepreneurship network.
The company said that over the last seven years it has launched several innovation programs aimed at promoting startups developing solutions for the automobile and mobility sector.
Till now, Maruti Suzuki has screened around 7,400 startups, out of which the company has worked with more than 250 startups, while 38 startups have been included as its business partners.
