New Delhi, December 25 (IANS). The central government on Thursday launched 5 digital reforms to promote transparent and citizen-centric governance in the country. Their objective is to make government work easier, faster and more accountable.
These five digital initiatives were inaugurated by Dr. Jitendra Singh, Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions at the National Workshop on Good Governance Practices 2025 held in New Delhi. These improvements include Ex-Servicemen Reservation Compilation, AI based Recruitment Tool, e-HRMS 2.0 Mobile App, iGOT AI Platform and Karmayogi Digital Learning Lab 2.0.
Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh, while addressing the program organized on the occasion of Good Governance Day celebrated every year on 25 December, said that good governance is not just an idea, but it is the responsibility of day-to-day administration, which is based on transparency, accountability and providing better services to the citizens.
He said that ‘Good Governance Day’ has special significance because it is the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Atal ji had laid the foundation of honesty in public life and governance giving priority to the people.
The minister said that the thinking of good governance was there earlier also. But, after 2014, it was truly implemented under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is based on the mantra of ‘minimum government, maximum governance’.
These five digital initiatives aim to strengthen the core processes of governance, support diverse stakeholders and prepare government employees for the challenges of changing times.
In the Ex-Servicemen Reservation Compilation, all the guidelines related to reservation given to ex-servicemen in the Central Government have been kept at one place in a simple and updated form. This will bring clarity in the rules and benefits will be available on time.
Dr. Jitendra Singh said that AI based recruitment rule making tool will make government recruitment easier. This tool will suggest the right recruitment process through question-answers and will automatically draft rules, which will reduce delays and mistakes.
The e-HRMS 2.0 mobile app, which is available on both Android and iOS, will provide government employees with information related to their service records, promotions, transfers, training and retirement on mobile only. This will reduce paperwork and increase transparency.
New AI features have been added to the iGOT Karmayogi platform, such as AI Sarathi, AI Tutor and special training programs. These will help the government employees to learn and enhance their skills as per their need.
Karmayogi Digital Learning Lab 2.0 will create high quality digital learning content using modern technologies such as AR/VR, gamification and interactive simulations. With this, information about reforms and good practices will quickly reach across the country.
The Minister said that all these initiatives reflect a coherent, forward-looking approach to governance reforms that leverage technology to strengthen institutions and put both citizens and government employees at the center of change.
