The Supreme Court heard the petition against the bail of the Union Minister’s son accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case. The Supreme Court has issued a notice to the state government asking why the bail of the accused should not be terminated. Apart from this, the court has directed the government to ensure the safety of witnesses in this case.
The court has said that the next hearing of the case will be held after the Holi holiday. The petitioners’ counsel Prashant Bhushan had said that the High Court’s order was wrong in view of the gravity of the offence. He had also alleged that before the hearing in the court, the witness was attacked with murder. Let us inform that in this case four farmers and four other people had died. This included two BJP workers, a driver and a local journalist.

Earlier, when the SIT constituted by the Supreme Court handed over the investigation, Mishra was arrested.
