America should see India as a ‘valuable independent, democratic’ partner: Nikki Haley

Republican Party leader Nikki Haley has said that stopping the decline in relations with India should be the priority of America and New Delhi should be seen as a “valuable independent and democratic” partner.

The Indian-American leader made this comment in an article in Newsweek magazine on Wednesday. He has said this at a time when tension has arisen in relations between the two countries following the decision of President Donald Trump to levy a 50 percent fee on Indian goods.
