Kuwait National Guard has shot down two drone aircraft in its areas of responsibility in the early hours of 27 March 2026. The incident was officially confirmed by National Guard spokesperson Brigadier General Dr. Written by Jedaan Fadel. This action has been taken to strengthen the security of the country and to protect important targets from any external threat. Expatriates and citizens living in Kuwait have been asked to follow the security rules issued by the administration.

Why did the security forces take this action?
Spokesperson Dr. Jedaan Fadel said that this operation is part of the National Guard’s vigilance towards security. The main objective of the security forces is to prevent any suspicious activity and protect the main sites of Kuwait. He clarified that the National Guard task force is monitoring round the clock so that any infiltration attempt can be foiled. This incident shows the alertness of the security forces within the last 24 hours.

The National Guard task force has so far shot down a total of 46 drone aircraft. So far, 6 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have also been successfully intercepted. Kuwait Ministry of Defense spokesman Colonel Saud Al-Atwan also confirmed the cessation of attacks. All the security forces and general fire forces of the country have been kept on high alert at this time.
