Amazon’s cloud computing centers in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been attacked by drones. The company itself has confirmed that two of its data centers have been directly targeted. Many online services and banking apps are not working in the Middle East due to this attack. This incident happened on March 2, 2026, after which the server is facing problems. A center in Bahrain has also been damaged.

How much was the loss and which services were stopped?
Amazon Web Services (AWS) has reported that drone strikes on two of its main data centers in the UAE triggered fire extinguishing systems, causing flooding of the machines and heavy damage. This has had a direct impact on the services used by the common people.
About 25 types of major cloud services have come to a complete halt. Many banking apps including Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) are facing problems. Amazon’s delivery center in Abu Dhabi has also been closed due to security reasons.
What advice has the company given and when will the situation improve?
Amazon has clearly said that there has been extensive damage to the buildings and machines, so it will take a prolonged time for everything to be repaired. The company has advised all its customers in the Middle East to immediately shift their important data to a secure server in Europe or America.
According to reports, the UAE military had intercepted many drones and missiles in the air, but some fell on the data center. Apart from this, there is news of drones being seen near the US Embassy in Riyadh on the morning of March 3, due to which security has been increased in the entire area.
