Tension in the Gulf region has increased significantly due to Iranian attacks on Gulf countries. On March 17 and 18, there were several drone and missile attacks on Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE, which were destroyed in the air by defense systems. Gulf Journalists Union (GJU) has strongly condemned these attacks, calling them a major threat to regional security. These attacks are directly impacting the common citizens living there and the large number of working migrants.

ℹ️: Terrible blast while charging electric vehicle in Indore, 8 people including 2 children died, government ordered investigation.

What is the ground situation in Kuwait, Qatar and UAE

According to the latest reports, the defense systems of the Gulf countries are continuously thwarting these attacks. On the morning of 18 March, Qatar destroyed an Iranian missile coming towards Doha. At the same time, many drones and missiles have been stopped in Kuwait in the last 24 hours. Common citizens and migrants working there are suffering the most losses in these attacks. According to Human Rights Watch (HRW) data, since February 28, 11 civilians have lost their lives and 268 people have been injured, a large number of whom are migrant labourers.

Kuwait: The Defense Ministry destroyed 2 ballistic missiles and 13 drones in the air. Two people suffered minor injuries from the debris.
UAE: One person was killed and several were injured when a missile hit a civilian vehicle in Abu Dhabi’s Al Bahia area. UAE has so far destroyed 314 missiles and 1,672 drones.
Qatar: The missile fired targeting Doha was stopped in the air.
Saudi Arabia: An important meeting of Arab and Islamic foreign ministers is being held in Riyadh to discuss regional security.

Important updates for common life and migrants

Despite these attacks, the governments of Gulf countries are trying their best to keep life normal. The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Kuwait has confirmed that even after the missiles were stopped, the levels of gases and pollution in the air are absolutely normal. To ensure that there is no shortage of food items in the market, Lulu Group is continuously bringing fresh food supplies from India to Kuwait. Keeping security in mind, some new rules have also been made, which are necessary for all migrants and citizens to follow.

The upcoming Eid prayers will be offered at 6:08 am only inside mosques. Due to security reasons, offering Namaz in open grounds has been banned. Gulf Journalists Union (GJU) has appealed to international organizations to come forward in support of Gulf countries and secure energy and trade routes. The United Nations has also passed Resolution 2817 condemning these attacks and supporting the sovereignty of the GCC countries.
