Incidents of violence have come to light again in many areas of the West Bank. Life in Palestinian villages has become difficult due to attacks by Israeli settlers. Impact of attacks and latest situation
According to reports, on 10 January 2026, armed Israeli settlers attacked the villages of Al-Mughayir and Yabrud, located northeast of Ramallah. Eyewitnesses say that during this time live bullets were fired and tear gas shells were released. Crops and cattle have been extensively damaged in these attacks.
Additionally, violence has also been reported in Shalal Al-Auja Bedouin village. There people were beaten up and their vehicles were forcibly snatched away. Due to these incidents, there is an atmosphere of fear among the local residents, due to which their normal life has been badly affected.
Thousands of people rendered homeless, UN figures
According to data from the UN agency OCHA, continuous attacks are causing large-scale displacement. About 26 families have left everything behind from the village of Ras Ein el-Auja in the Jordan Valley. This number is a large part of the total families living there.
