Maritime relations between Kuwait and Oman are now deepening. Oman’s Royal Navy’s famous ship ‘Al-Mabrouka’ has reached Kuwait’s Shuwaikh Port. After the arrival of this ship, on Monday, 9 February, Oman Embassy organized a special program on the ship itself. In this, the ongoing training program and mutual cooperation between the navies of the two countries was discussed. This ship has come to Kuwait as part of a training mission.
Ship mission and crew information
Captain of this ship, Colonel (Navy) Zaheer bin Mohammed Al-Abri said that ‘Al-Mabrouka’ had left from the port of Oman last Tuesday and reached Shuwaikh Port in Kuwait on Friday. There are a total of 184 people on board the ship who are part of this mission.
This ship not only provides training, but it also works as a Command and Control ship. Its main function is to strengthen the security system at sea and keep international shipping routes safe. The navies of Oman and Kuwait are working together in this direction.
Growing trade between the two countries
Oman’s Ambassador Dr. Saleh Al-Kharousi said the visit coincides with Kuwait’s National Day celebrations. He told that the figures of trade and investment between the two countries are increasing very fast. Kuwait has become the largest Arab country to invest in Oman.
If we look at the recent figures, the partnership between the two countries is as follows:
bilateral trade: Reached 5 billion dollars in the year 2025.
Kuwaiti Investment: Investment of 1.362 billion dollars in Oman.
Arrival of the ship: 6 February 2026 (Friday).
Crew Number: 184 soldiers.
The cooperation between the two countries is also worth $9 billion in big projects like Duqm Refinery (OQ8) in Oman, which is now working at its full capacity. The Ambassador also congratulated the Amir of Kuwait and its people on this occasion.
