The Qatar government has taken a big decision for all those tourists who are unable to leave the country due to the closure of the airspace. Qatar Tourism has instructed all hotels in the country to extend the stay of travelers who are stranded due to travel restrictions. The government has clarified that the administration itself will bear the additional expenses for the stay of these passengers so that no tourist has to face any problem.

Who will get the benefit of this facility and what are the rules?

According to the circular issued by Qatar Tourism, this rule applies to all tourists who were to check-out from the hotel after 28 February 2026. Those who could not board their flights due to closure of the airfield will not be evacuated from the hotel. Hotels have been ordered to allow guests to stay until airways reopen and airlines return to normal.

Important information related to airspace and current situation

Qatar Civil Aviation Authority (QCAA) has temporarily suspended air traffic from 1 March 2026 due to regional security reasons. Due to this, all Qatar Airways flights have also been stopped. Given the current situation, the government has also taken some other strict measures that travelers and residents should be aware of.

Ground staff has been deployed at the airport to provide food and hotel facilities to the stranded passengers. The administration has appealed to the people to beware of any social media fraud and get information only through the official website. In view of the regional situation, the general public has also been advised not to make unnecessary movements.
