Amid growing hostility between Afghanistan and Pakistan, US President Donald Trump claimed that “if” he needed to resolve the conflict between the two countries, it would be “easy” for him.
“I think whether Pakistan attacked or the conflict with Afghanistan is going on, if I have to resolve it, it’s easier for me,” Trump told the media during a dinner with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.
Trump once again claimed to have saved the lives of millions of people and also assured that he would be “successful” in resolving the conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan. “I like stopping people from getting killed,” he said. I have saved the lives of millions and millions of people and I think we will succeed in stopping this war.
Pakistan carried out new airstrikes targeting terrorist hideouts in Afghanistan, overshadowing the expected talks in Doha. Earlier, a ceasefire between the two sides had put a temporary halt to the attacks.
According to the Saturday report of the newspaper ‘Dawn’, before these attacks the terrorists had attacked a military installation in North Waziristan with guns and bombs.
Meanwhile, Trump has once again expressed disappointment at not receiving the Nobel Peace Prize despite stopping “eight wars”.
“You know, we’ve solved eight other problems. … I’ve solved eight wars,” Trump said. “Every time I solve one, they say if you solve the next one, you’ll get a Nobel Prize.”
However, Trump immediately said that he did not do this for the Nobel. He claimed that he does not know the 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner (Maria Corina Machado). He did not mention Machado by name. He said, “I did not get the Nobel Prize. Someone has received this award. She is a very nice woman, very nice, I don’t know who she is but she is very generous so I don’t care about all that. I just care about saving lives.”
