Saudi Arabia Arrests: More than 21 thousand arrested in Saudi Arabia within a week, major action against rule breakers

Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) has launched a large-scale checking campaign across the country. A total of 21,022 people have been arrested in this action which took place between 26 February and 4 March 2026. These people are accused of violating residency, border security and labor laws. The government has made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against migrants who ignore the rules.

How many arrests were made under which law?

Saudi security forces have arrested these people by raiding different areas. The highest number of people arrested are those who break the residency law. The complete data of arrests as per the Home Ministry report is given below.

Preparations to send thousands of people out of the country

Legal process has been started against those caught. During this one week alone, 8,511 people have been sent back to their country i.e. deported. About 13,854 people have been sent to their respective embassies so that their travel documents can be prepared. Authorities have warned that anyone who provides work, accommodation or transport to illegal immigrants could face up to 15 years in prison and a fine of up to 1 million Saudi riyals.

Complain on helpline number

The government has appealed to the general public and expatriates to immediately inform the authorities about anyone breaking the rules. People living in Mecca, Riyadh and the Eastern Province can call 911. The numbers 999 and 996 are issued for all other areas of the Kingdom. Saudi security forces are conducting frequent field patrols to fully enforce the country’s safety and labor laws.
