Amidst the ongoing air problems in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the government there has announced a big relief for the passengers. The government has come forward to help those who are stuck in Dubai and Abu Dhabi due to flight cancellation or delay. The UAE government will now bear the entire cost of accommodation and food for more than 20,000 passengers. This decision has come into effect from 28 February 2026 and this help will continue until the situation becomes normal.

🗞️: Iran Leadership Crisis: The news of the death of Iran’s new interim leader Ayatollah Arafi went viral, know what is the reality.

What are the government orders for hotels?

Abu Dhabi authorities (DCT Abu Dhabi) have given clear instructions to all hotels that passengers who were supposed to check-out but could not due to no flight, should not be evicted from the hotel. The time of their stay should be extended and its bill should be sent directly to the government. Even in Dubai, hotels have been asked not to charge any extra from the passengers nor to impose any penalty.

According to reports, private companies like Danube Properties and Arabnb Homes have also extended their helping hand. These companies are offering free houses to stranded families and elderly people to live in. This initiative is a great relief for those Indians and other expatriates who were troubled by this sudden crisis.

When will flights start and what should passengers do?

Emirates airline has suspended its flights from Dubai till 3 pm on Monday, March 2. Etihad Airways also stopped its services for some time. This decision has been taken keeping security in mind as there have been some security incidents near the airport recently. If you are going to travel, be sure to check with your airline before leaving home.

The officials have clearly said that without confirmed tickets, do not increase the crowd at the airport. For Indian passengers and other foreign nationals, airlines are providing free ticket re-booking facility till March 18, 2026. Passengers can get information about hotel vouchers through airport apps or by contacting the airline’s help desk.
