The Trump administration has said the US should continue to improve commercial and other ties with India to encourage New Delhi to contribute to Indo-Pacific security, including through continued cooperation within the Quad grouping.
The ‘National Security Strategy of the United States’ released late night by the Trump administration described the ‘extraordinary progress’ made by the US.
The document also emphasized on stronger cooperation with India to deal with the security challenge in the South China Sea.
Trump said in his message on the National Security Strategy, ‘This document is the blueprint to ensure that America remains the greatest and most successful nation in human history and that freedom remains on earth. In the years to come, we will continue to develop every dimension of our national strength and we will make America more secure, prosperous, free, great and powerful than ever before.’
The National Security Strategy emphasizes that the US should ‘continue to improve commercial and other ties with India to encourage New Delhi to contribute to the security of the Indo-Pacific region, which includes Australia, Japan and the US, known as the Quad.’
