Professional networking site LinkedIn is going to change its privacy policies. According to the update shared on the company’s website, Microsoft will be allowed to use user data more under these changes to implemented from 3 November 2025. Which can be used for AI training and personalized advertisements.
AI will be used to train models
LinkedIn has confirmed that some user data such as profiles, work history, education, posts and comments will be used to “train AI models generating content”. The company said, “This change will help improve user experience and in easy connections with new opportunities.”
Private messages will not be used
The platform made it clear that private messages would not be used. This AI-training policy will only apply to users from EU, EEA, UK, Switzerland, Canada and Hong Kong. There will be no change in the rest of the areas.
