Patna . Just a day before the first phase of voting in Bihar, the administration is fully prepared. DGP Vinay Kumar gave a clear message on Wednesday that those who indulge in any kind of violence, disturbance or attempt to disturb law and order during the elections will be immediately arrested under preventive detention. He told that as soon as the elections are over, such people will be released on bond, but strict bond will also be imposed against them. The DGP said that to continuously monitor the situation, a big control room has been set up from where the activities across the state are being monitored. He said, “Any illegal activity will not be tolerated. Our team is active 24 hours.”
He said that such preventive action is already going on and more than 2 lakh people have been arrested so far this year.
Vinay Kumar said that a large number of paramilitary forces have been deployed to conduct the elections peacefully. According to him, a total of 1500 paramilitary forces were made available in three phases for the first phase. An additional 150 paramilitary forces have also provided assistance in the last 5 to 6 days. These forces have been deployed in those districts where the second phase of elections will be held so that there is no lapse in security arrangements. Strict checking will continue in all districts.
He said that dial 112 will remain fully functional and the numbers of all the officials have been kept active so that any complaint can be immediately processed. Apart from this, a large mechanism for complaints has been developed, where every kind of information will be responded to immediately.
The DGP warned that police will keep an eye on every nook and corner of the state during voting on Thursday. Those waving Katta will not be left at any cost. People who are posting abusive or inflammatory posts on social media have been identified. Soon they will be brought under the ambit of law.
He expressed confidence that Bihar elections will be conducted peacefully. Also clearly said that if any person is involved in a criminal incident or tries to influence the voting, then after the elections, strict legal action will be taken and he will also have to go to jail.
Meanwhile, on the FIR registered against Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), DGP Vinay Kumar said, “As per the law, wherever there is a violation, an FIR is registered immediately.”
