A land dispute between two brothers turned into a bloody conflict late Wednesday evening in Karaiya Banet village of Ashoknagar district of Madhya Pradesh. The fight over division of four bighas of land resulted in a bloody conflict with sticks and axes. In this conflict, the father and nephew were killed, while four others including two brothers were seriously injured. The injured have been admitted to the government hospital for treatment, out of which the condition of two remains critical. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
Dispute over four bighas of land
According to the police, there was a long-running dispute between village residents Raj Mahendra Yadav and Krishnabhan Yadav regarding four bighas of land. It is being told that father Khilan Singh Yadav had already divided the land between his two sons, but on Wednesday Raj Mahendra sowed seeds on four bighas of his father’s land. Angered by this, younger brother Krishnabhan reached the farm with a tractor and tried to stop Raj Mahendra. Meanwhile, the fight between the two escalated so much that sticks and axes started being used.
Four people were seriously injured in the bloody clash.
Seeing the commotion, father Khilan Singh and nephew Pawan Yadav ran to intervene, but the dispute escalated so much that they were also attacked. With the help of family members and villagers, all the injured were brought to the district hospital, where doctors declared Khilan Singh Yadav and Pawan Yadav brought dead. Injured Rajmahendra, Krishnabhan, Rajbir and Radhika are undergoing treatment. Of these, the condition of Krishnabhan and Radhika is said to be serious and they have been referred to Bhopal for better treatment.
Father attacked for intervening
Injured Radhika told that when the fight between the two brothers escalated, her grandfather Khilan Singh and brother Pawan intervened, but both were attacked with axes. He tried to stop them several times, but no one listened. His grandfather and brother died shortly afterwards. Injured Rajbir also told that there was a dispute going on between the two brothers for a long time. The family and villagers tried several times for reconciliation, but tension persisted. On Wednesday, a dispute over sowing in the field turned into a fight, causing chaos in the entire family.
Police registered a case of murder
Ashoknagar Additional Superintendent of Police Gajendra Kanwar said that this is a family dispute. Police have registered a case of murder and attempt to murder. Sticks and axes have been seized from the spot. The forensic team has collected evidence from the spot and investigation is ongoing. There is mourning in the village due to the death of both. The family members are inconsolable. The police have conducted post-mortem and handed over the bodies to the relatives. Heavy police force is deployed in Karaiya Banet village to prevent any untoward incident.
