Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday told Russian President Vladimir Putin that it is a call for humanity to end the Ukraine struggle as soon as possible.
Modi and Putin interacted during the annual summit of Shanghai Cooperation Sangathan (SCO) in this Chinese port city.
In his inaugural speech on television, Modi said, “We welcome all the recent efforts to bring peace to Ukraine and hope that all the concerned parties will move” creatively “.”
He said that it is a call for humanity to end the struggle as soon as possible and find ways to bring permanent peace in the area.
Modi also said that India is waiting for the welcoming of the Russian leader.
Putin is going to come to India for summit with Modi in December. Modi said that India and Russia have always moved forward with shoulder to shoulder even in difficult times.
He said that close relations between India and Russia are important for global peace, stability and prosperity.
