New Delhi, 20 December. Due to today’s busy life, stress and irregular eating habits, there is deficiency of many nutrients in the body. Negligence is also a big reason. Among the nutrients the body needs on a daily basis, magnesium is one of the most important, also known as the ‘master mineral’ or ‘natural calming mineral’.

Magnesium plays a role in more than 300 biological processes. In Ayurveda, it is considered an element that calms vata-pitta and increases digestive power. According to the information, a large population of the world is suffering from its deficiency.

Magnesium plays an important role in keeping the body healthy. It calms the nerves and brain, supports chemicals like serotonin and GABA. It keeps the heartbeat stable, controls blood pressure, strengthens muscles and bones, helps in increasing the energy of the body and maintains blood sugar balance.

If there is a deficiency of any nutrient in the body, they start giving signals. In such a situation, the symptoms of magnesium deficiency include constant fatigue, muscle cramps, restlessness, anxiety, insomnia, irregular heartbeat, high blood pressure, migraine, constipation, increase in diabetes and mood swings in women and pain and cramps during periods.

Health experts tell how much magnesium do men and women need every day. Men require 400 to 420 mg, women require 310 to 320 MT, and pregnant women require 350 to 360 mg.

If we look at the natural sources of magnesium, it is found in abundance in pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashews, spinach, peanuts, black beans, dark chocolate, banana, oats and avocado. To increase its absorption, take it with Vitamin B6, eat magnesium-rich food at night, reduce tea and coffee.

Along with this, eat khichdi by adding ghee and spinach seeds or greens. With these simple measures, the body will remain healthy and the mind will remain calm. However, if symptoms persist and there is no relief, contact a doctor.
