New Delhi, January 1 (IANS). India’s automobile industry ended 2025 in a strong position and started 2026 with confidence, with many major companies reporting good sales and growth.
Market conditions continued to change in the year 2025, but customer demand increased in the second half of the year. The reasons for this were the launch of new vehicles, shopping during the festive season and increasing confidence of the people.
Luxury car company Audi India retailed 4,510 vehicles in 2025. The company benefited from the continued demand for SUVs, fast cars and expensive vehicles.
Vehicles like Audi Q7, Q8, RS Q8 Performance and S5 Sportback were greatly appreciated by the customers. At the same time, models like Audi Q3, A4, A6 and Q5 also continued to sell.
The company said that improvements in GST and good sales during festivals boosted customer enthusiasm. Regarding future plans, Audi India said that it will work on plans to launch new vehicles in 2026, better connect with customers and focus on people.
Renault India also made a strong comeback in the second half of 2025, with the company’s sales growing by 18.2 percent year-on-year. Sales increased from the third quarter and in the fourth quarter this increase increased to more than 27 percent.
December 2025 was one of the best months for Renault, when sales increased by 33.4 percent to 3,845 units.
At the same time, 2025 was the most successful year so far for Skoda Auto India. This year the company completed 25 years in India.
Skoda sold 72,665 vehicles, more than double the number in 2024, registering a massive growth of 107 percent.
Kia India wholesaled a total of 2,80,286 vehicles in 2025, which is 15 percent more than last year.
December 2025 was the best month ever for Kia, with sales increasing 105 percent to 18,659 units.
Kia Sonet crossed the 1 lakh unit sales mark for the second consecutive year, showing its strong hold in the compact SUV segment. Kia also expanded its presence to 821 touchpoints across 369 cities in India by the end of the year.
Mahindra & Mahindra recorded highest-ever sales of SUVs and light commercial vehicles in December 2025.
The company sold 50,946 SUVs in the domestic market, a growth of 23 percent, while total vehicle sales including exports stood at 86,090 units, which is 25 percent more than last year.
There was also a good growth in the sales of commercial vehicles, especially the demand for light commercial vehicles (LCVs). Mahindra said the strong finish to 2025 reflects growing customer confidence and the success of its SUV-based strategy.
