Ahmedabad, January 24 (IANS). Adani Electricity has once again achieved A+ ranking in the national ranking of electricity distribution companies. This ranking has been given in the ’14th Annual Rating and Ranking’ report released by Power Finance Corporation.
Getting the top position for the second time in a row reflects Adani Electricity’s continued excellence in maintaining uninterrupted power supply, low power losses and strong financial discipline.
Commenting on this achievement, Adani Electricity said that this top ranking reflects the confidence of the people of Mumbai. The company said that it has been serving Mumbai for the last 100 years.
The company said that it is providing electricity to homes, hospitals and essential services every day, continuously and reliably, without any noise.
“Achieving the top spot for another consecutive year is meaningful as it reflects the trust that Mumbaikars place every day in the city’s and the country’s leading power utility,” the Adani Group company said.
The company further said that on completion of 100 years of service to Mumbai, we are moving forward along with the city.
This rating is an important moment for the power distribution sector at the national level. In the financial year 2025, electricity distribution companies across the country have together registered a net profit of Rs 2,701 crore. This is the first time that this sector has become profitable on the basis of paper accounts.
This situation is a big improvement compared to the loss of Rs 27,022 crore in FY 2024 and is attributed to the impact of reforms, better financial discipline and better use of technology.
Adani Electricity’s billing efficiency has consistently been above 95 percent, while bill recovery has reached almost 100 percent.
The report also states that Adani Electricity’s financial management is very strong and its performance in terms of payment recovery is the best in the country.
According to the report, the biggest feature of Adani Electricity is its consistently good performance. This success is not the result of any one-time gain, but of strong system, better use of data and technology and better service.
For this reason, Adani Electricity has become an example for urban electricity distribution not only in Maharashtra but in the entire country.
The report said that data-driven work, smart meters and analytics are now playing an important role in increasing the efficiency of power companies, reducing losses and strengthening the financial position.
