New Delhi, January 26 (IANS). Maintaining physical and mental health has become challenging in today’s fast-paced life. Work pressure, continuous sitting in front of smartphones and screens, lack of sleep and increasing stress are having a deep impact on our body and mind.
Due to this, not only are mental problems like anxiety and depression increasing, but memory is also weakening and there is problem in concentrating. In such a situation, yoga can work as a solution for our health.
According to the Ministry of AYUSH, yoga is not only physical exercise, but it also works to improve mental health, concentration and strengthen the nervous system. In this series, Hakini Yoga Mudra is a simple hand posture, which helps in keeping the mind active, reducing stress and increasing self-confidence.
Hakini Yoga Mudra, also known as Power Gesture or Brain Power Mudra, is done by joining the five fingers of the hands together. To do this, first of all you sit in Padmasana or Vajrasana and close your eyes and take deep and long breaths. After this, connect the tips of all the fingers of one hand with the tips of the fingers of the other hand. Take care not to put excessive pressure on the fingers. Keep your mind away from unnecessary thoughts by concentrating on the area between the eyebrows. Do it for two to three minutes in the beginning and gradually increase it to five minutes. Practicing it every morning on an empty stomach and in the evening further increases its effect.
This posture has many benefits. Firstly, it increases focus and concentration. By joining the fingers of the hands, both parts of the brain are activated, which strengthens the memory and makes it easier to maintain focus on any work. Along with this, it reduces stress and anxiety. For those who are constantly worried or facing depression, this posture works for mental peace and balance.
Hakini Mudra also helps in increasing self-confidence. By doing this, not only does the person feel excited and motivated towards his work, but also increases mental stability and energy.
Apart from this, Hakini Mudra also helps in improving the quality of sleep. Many people do not sleep at night due to fatigue and stress throughout the day. Practicing this posture increases blood circulation in the body and improves the flow of oxygen, which leads to deep and balanced sleep. Its regular practice also improves the functionality of the nervous system, tissues and cells. This provides energy to the body and the person feels active throughout the day.
