Preparations have started on a large scale for the holy month of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia. The Ministry of Islamic Affairs has completed the work of fully preparing 18,691 mosques across the country to welcome worshippers. For this, work is going on on 102 different projects, which include cleaning, repair and technical investigation of mosques. Ministry teams are ensuring that people do not face any problem in worship during Ramzan, for this, special attention is also being given to women’s prayer areas.
What are the rules for namaz and loudspeaker?
The ministry has also issued some strict rules for mosques which will be mandatory for all imams and staff to follow. Namaz timings in all mosques will be decided according to the ‘Umm al-Qura’ calendar. During Isha and Fajr prayers, it will be necessary to keep a gap of 15 minutes between Azaan and Iqama. Apart from this, Tahajjud prayers will have to be finished before Fajr Azaan so that the worshipers do not face any problem.
Ban on Iftar and video making
This time in Ramzan, strictness will also be taken regarding Iftar and donations. Iftar party will not be allowed inside the mosques, it can be done only in the courtyard of the mosque or at designated places. It will be mandatory to clean immediately after Iftar. There is a complete ban on collecting any kind of cash donation for Iftar Project. Along with this, there will be a ban on making videos of Imam or namazis during namaz and live telecast of namaz.
I’tikaf and important dates
For those who want to do Itikaf (reclusion in the mosque) during Ramadan, it will be necessary for them to register. If a non-Saudi citizen wishes to perform I’tikaf, he must obtain approval from his sponsor. This time, possible dates for the beginning of Ramadan and Eid have also been revealed.
