Leeba Subin from Kerala has decided to return to India permanently with her family after spending nearly 10 years in Dubai. His story is much discussed on social media where he has given 10 big reasons for leaving the luxuries of abroad and returning to his country. The biggest relief for them is ‘financial freedom’, because after returning to India they are not left with any kind of debt or EMI burden.

Freedom from rent hassles and debt free life
Leeba said that this decision was not taken suddenly, but was a step taken after months of deliberation. His Dubai house rent and visa renewal date had coincided, giving him a chance to pause and think. Before returning to India, he had cleared his home loan and all other debts. His own villa in Kerala was completed in 2021 itself, due to which he no longer has to worry about rent.
He has made complete arrangements for financial security before his return. He has an emergency fund of 6 to 7 months. Apart from this, a plan for health insurance for the family and investment (SIP) for the child’s education was also prepared in advance, so that there is no shortage of money after coming to India. This ‘zero debt’ lifestyle is giving them mental peace.
Children’s school and parents’ support
While living in Dubai, his child had to leave home at 6 am to go to school and the journey took 90 minutes. Now his school in Kerala is just 3 kilometers away from home, which takes only 10 minutes to reach. School timings are also 8:30 am, due to which the child gets more rest and he is easily adjusting to the Indian environment.
Leeba has an online business, which she can run from any corner of the world. He told that his parents are around 70-80 years of age. Spending time with parents at this stage is a big responsibility and a matter of happiness for them. Many NRIs on social media have appreciated his move and have also expressed their desire to return home amid rising expenses.
