New Delhi, February 19 (IANS). Highlighting India’s achievements in technology, Bharatiya Janata Party Rajya Sabha MP and party spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday praised the country’s progress in the tech sector, while criticizing the opposition for failing to acknowledge it.
Trivedi said, “On one hand, everyone associated with India’s technology sector is excited, and the people of the country are feeling proud. On the other hand, the Congress party and other opposition leaders have not issued a single statement praising it. Forget praise; they have not given a single positive statement. Technological development should remain above politics, yet they keep showing their jealousy and resentment towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which is very unfortunate.”
He further said that when BJP was in opposition, it had consistently acknowledged every technological advancement in India and praised the role of scientists.
“At least, the opposition could have recognized and praised the achievements of our tech sector,” the BJP Rajya Sabha MP said.
Trivedi described India as emerging as a new country, while the Congress is in constant despair. The BJP Rajya Sabha MP’s comment comes at a time when the World AI Summit is being held in India, in which leaders from around the world including United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and French President Emmanuel Macron as well as heads of state of 22 other countries are also participating.
He said, “World’s renowned IT companies are also participating in this event, which shows India’s growing stature in Artificial Intelligence.”
Recalling earlier suspicions, Trivedi said a former finance minister (indirectly referring to P. Chidambaram) had once said in Parliament that Indians did not have the ability to learn new technology or understand digital transactions.
Today, BJP leader Trivedi said that India is the number one country in digital transactions and is showing its leadership in AI across the world, crediting this success to Prime Minister Modi’s strategic vision and capable leadership.
He also praised Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and her team for their ‘commendable efforts in putting the Prime Minister’s vision into practice’.
Commenting on Artificial Intelligence, Trivedi said, “AI, or ‘Kritim Buddhi’ in Hindi, is a wonderful achievement. However, it cannot be appreciated by those with ‘twisted minds’. Only people lacking basic intelligence cannot understand India’s glory in AI.”
