PM Modi inaugrates Purnia Airport in Bihar: The bugle of assembly elections in Bihar is over! Before the announcement of dates by the Election Commission, political parties have entered the fray with full force. In this episode, Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached Purnia in Bihar on Monday. Here he did not one, but two big ‘Mastrstroke’. PM Modi inaugurated the temporary terminal building of the new Civil Enclave, making Purnia Bihar the fourth commercial airport. Along with this, he laid and inaugurated development projects worth more than Rs 36,000 crore. Will this ‘Vikas’ bet be able to place BJP’s election ‘lottery’ in Seemanchal region?
Bihar gets fourth ‘flight’ whereabouts
With the opening of a new airport in Purnia, people of Seemanchal region will get a big relief. Till now, he had to go to Patna, Gaya or Darbhanga for air travel. Now along with Purnia, people of Araria, Katihar, Kishanganj, Madhepura, Saharsa and Supaul will also get direct benefit. This new airport will not only make air travel easier, but will also help in the development and interconnection of the area. Currently, direct flights will be available from here to Kolkata and Ahmedabad. Indigo airline’s flights to Kolkata will be three days a week. Modern facilities have been provided in Purnia Airport Complex. It has facilities such as terminal building, APron, Cargo Complex, STP, Water and Fire Tank, Electric Sub Station, Aviation Fuel Farm, Admin Office, Commercial Plaza and Still Parking.
Electoral bets of ’36, 000 crores’
During the public meeting held at the SSB SSB Ground in Purnia, Prime Minister Modi inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of various development projects worth more than Rs 36,000 crore. During this, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy CM Vijay Sinha and Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu were also present with him. This huge amount is a big signal to speed up the development of Bihar. The announcement of such a large amount of projects before the election, the BJP’s ‘development agenda’ firmly presents.
Impact on electoral equations
This tour of Purnia is not only related to development, but also has deep political meanings. The Muslim population in the Seemanchal region is high and the region is considered a stronghold of RJD. In such a situation, the BJP is trying to win public confidence through development projects in the region. The BJP believes that with the promise of development and better connectivity, it can break the caste equations and make ‘new voters’. Now it will be seen how much this ‘bet of development’ of PM Modi benefits BJP in the upcoming elections.
