There is an important news for Indian students and their parents living in Gulf countries. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has postponed the class 10th and 12th board examinations in view of the current security situation in the Middle East. This decision will be applicable to schools in a total of 7 countries including Oman, UAE and Saudi Arabia. The board has made it clear that this step has been taken for security reasons and the safety of the students is their priority.
In which countries and which paper has been postponed?
According to the official information released by the board, the examination to be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 has been postponed for the time being. This rule is for all CBSE schools located in Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The board has clarified that the exam has not been cancelled, but only the date has been extended. The new date of the postponed paper will be announced soon.
When will the decision on further examinations come?
CBSE officials have said that the situation will be reviewed again on March 3, 2026. Only after this will any final decision be taken on the examinations starting from March 5. Students and parents have been advised not to believe the ‘fake circular’ going viral on social media, in which it is said that the examination has been cancelled.
