Under his leadership, IndiGo created history by placing the world’s largest order of 500 Airbus A320 aircraft in June 2023. Before IndiGo, he was with Dutch airline company KLM. There he rose from a small position to President and then CEO. He is considered a troubleshooter and strategist in the aviation industry, but this time, IndiGo faced a major crisis under his leadership.
indigo crisis
In December last year, Indigo canceled thousands of flights. More than 5,000 flights were canceled in 10 days starting on December 2. This happened in November due to government rules related to pilot duty. The airline had plenty of time to increase its number of pilots, but the company failed to do so, and the impact was felt in December. This caused a lot of damage to Indigo’s image.
