Till now, many families were forced to stay in expensive hotels or spend the night on footpaths due to lack of nearby facilities and financial constraints.
“Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and the guidance of Health Minister Praful Pansheriya, ‘Ran Basera’ was developed to address this problem, officials said.
The facility has been designed to provide clean, safe and comfortable accommodation to families accompanying patients.
“This will also help in reducing crowding in corridors and galleries, making it easier to maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital,” officials said.
Rain Basera has a basement, ground floor and eight upper floors, spread over a total built up area of 24,436 square metres.
On the ground floor there is a large canteen with a capacity of 280 people, a modern kitchen, a TV room, a reception area, a bank ATM and eight shops catering to daily needs.
The dormitories have clean toilets and secure lockers for storing luggage. Parking for 58 four-wheelers and 91 two-wheelers has been provided in the basement to manage the traffic efficiently.
