New Delhi, May 21 (IANS). The country’s largest car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India has announced on Thursday that it will increase the prices of its vehicles by up to Rs 30,000 from June 2026.

The company said in a stock exchange filing that it has decided to increase the prices of all its models.

In a regulatory filing, the company said, “In view of the continuous increase in input costs, the company has decided to increase the prices of all its models by up to Rs 30,000 from June 2026.”

In an official statement, the company said that the automobile industry is being impacted by the continuous increase in raw material and operating costs, due to which this decision has been taken.

The company further said, “Over the past few months, the company has been continuously trying to mitigate the impact of cost increases through various cost reduction measures.”

Maruti Suzuki India said that it had taken several cost reduction steps in the last few months so that some part of the increased costs could be borne by itself, but due to continuously increasing expenses, it became necessary to partially increase the prices.

The company said that every possible effort has been made to minimize its impact on customers.

The company said in the filing, “However, now the inflationary pressure has increased significantly and an adverse cost environment prevails. In such a situation, the company has to pass on some part of the increased cost to the market, while efforts will continue to keep the impact on customers minimal.”

The company also said that the price increase will vary from model to model.

This announcement comes at a time when many automobile companies in India have increased the prices of their vehicles due to rising raw material prices, logistics expenses and rising inflationary pressure in the supply chain.

Earlier, Mahindra & Mahindra had also announced increase in prices of its SUV and commercial vehicle portfolio from April 6.

The company had said that due to increase in input and operating costs, the prices of vehicles will be increased by up to 2.5 percent, while the average prices will increase by about 1.6 percent.
