According to sources in the Joint Parliamentary Committee formed for the Education Ministry, the Director General (DG) of NTA was asked several questions regarding the investigation of paper leak and the process of re-examination. Appearing before the committee, NTA DG said that the priority of the agency at this time is to conduct the examination to be held on June 21 smoothly and properly.

When asked specifically about the “paper leak”, he denied that the entire paper was leaked; Instead he insisted that only specific questions had been tampered with. NTA DG clarifies that the “paper” itself was not leaked; Rather, reports suggest that certain “questions” from the paper were leaked. As a result, the exam was cancelled, and the matter is currently under CBI investigation. Given the situation, the NTA said it is not possible to determine at this time whether the entire paper was leaked, whether only certain questions were leaked, or exactly how many questions were tampered with. This decision comes under the jurisdiction of the investigating agency – CBI. The CBI investigation is currently underway, and the complete picture will become clear only when its investigation is completed.

**”We have nothing to disclose; investigation underway”: NTA DG**

According to sources, the NTA DG told the committee that the work of preparing a new set of questions for the examination to be held on June 21 is currently underway. When questions were raised during the meeting regarding the paper leak, officials said they could not give further details at this stage as the matter was under active investigation by the CBI. Both the government and NTA have given clear instructions to the investigating agency that prompt and strict action should be taken against anyone involved in the paper leak incident. After the successful completion of the examinations on June 21, efforts will be made to ensure that there is no delay in the start of the new academic session.

Education Ministry officials present at the meeting also indicated that after the June 21 exams, the entire organizational structure for next year’s exams will be discussed in detail. The purpose of these discussions is to implement measures to prevent recurrence of such incidents in future. The meeting, which lasted from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, was attended by the DG of NTA and various other senior officials of the Education Ministry.
