Lucknow Amrit Vichar: On the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav, there was a flood of faith in the temples of the capital on Thursday. Since morning, devotees kept reaching the temples for darshan and worship with chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram’ and ‘Jai Hanuman’. The atmosphere of the city became completely devotional and echoes of devotion were heard everywhere.
Long queues in major temples
There were long queues of devotees in the major temples of the city including Hanuman Setu Temple, Hanumant Dham, Aliganj Hanuman Temple and Dakshin Mukhi Hanuman Temple since morning. As soon as the doors of the temples opened, there was a rush of devotees for darshan, which continued throughout the day.
The atmosphere was filled with devotion and reverence
The temples were decorated with flower garlands and attractive lights, making the entire complex glow with divinity. Sunderkand recitation, Hanuman Chalisa and bhajan-kirtan were organized on this occasion.
The temple premises kept resonating with hymns like ‘Aarti Ki Jai Hanuman Lala Ki’ and ‘Jai Hanuman Gyan Gun Sagar’. The melodious waves of devotional songs made the atmosphere more spiritual.
Active participation in Bhandara and service activities
Bhandara was organized at many places, where devotees took prasad and participated enthusiastically in the service activities. Devotees prayed to Bajrangbali for happiness, prosperity, good health and peace in the country. Acharya Chandrakant Dwivedi of Hanuman Setu Temple told that Hanuman Janmotsav is celebrated on the full moon day of Chaitra month. This festival is a symbol of faith, energy and positivity, which provides courage and confidence to the devotees in life.
Hanuman ji was offered 51 kg laddu while lying down on his birth anniversary.
Hanuman’s birth anniversary was celebrated with great pomp on Thursday in the lying Hanumanji temple. Devotees decorated the temple with saffron balloons. On his birthday, 51 kg laddus were offered to Hanuman ji.
Thousands of devotees who came to celebrate Hanuman Jayanti applied vermillion to Hanuman, offered him chola and prasad. Special makeup was done on her birthday.
Dr. Vivek Tangri, the chief servant of the temple, performed the Maha Aarti of Hanuman ji. All the devotees bathed the Ashtadhatu idol of Hanuman ji lying in child form with Panchamrit.
In the afternoon, bhajan singer Shashank recited Sunderkand. The devotees who came to the temple enjoyed the Bhandara.
In the evening, fifty-six offerings were made to Hanumanji.
On this occasion, Trust servants Dr. Pankaj Singh Bhadoria, Riddhi Kishore Gaur, Ashish Aggarwal, Akhilesh Kumar, Surendra Sudan, Ajay Mehrotra, Prahlad Aggarwal, Loveleen Khosla were mainly present.
Devotees organized a huge Bhandara on the occasion of Hanuman Janmotsav at Kakkar Park in Chowpatiya.
Atul and his team distributed whole vegetables and curry rice in the Bhandara.
Baba’s gesture was adorned in Chowpatiya Sankat Mochan Hanuman Temple. In the evening, devotees recited Sunderkand along with Bindu Tandon, Anil Tandon and Shyamu Yadav.

Hanuman ji’s birth anniversary was celebrated with great pomp at Kotwaleeshwar Mahadev Temple located at Chowk Kotwali. Mahant Vishal Gaur of the temple described Hanuman ji as the incarnation of Shiva and a supreme devotee of Ram. Mahant Vishal Gaur told that after bathing at 4 in the morning, Hanumanji was smeared with vermilion using sesame oil, decorated with silver work and perfume and decorated with flowers and a special aarti was performed. Laddus, boondi and fruits were offered to Hanumanji.
On this occasion the entire temple was decorated with two quintals of flowers. There was a steady flow of devotees in the temple from 6 am till late night. Mahant told that on this day there is a tradition of special puja, recitation of Hanuman Chalisa and offering Chola in temples. He told that those who worship Hanuman at the right time and method according to Hanuman Chalisa, chanting mantras and worship method, Bajrangbali is pleased and happiness, peace, prosperity and success come in the lives of the devotees.
Devotees gathered to have darshan on Hanuman Jayanti
The festivals of Chaitra Shukla Purnima and Hanuman Jayanti were celebrated with pomp in Ayodhya Ram city on Thursday. Devotees reached Ayodhya in large numbers from 5 am onwards, took bath in the holy river Saryu and visited Hanuman Garhi and Ram temple. The rituals were concluded with musical Sunderkand recitation in Kaleram Temple, Janaki Mahal Trust and other temples.

Gopal Desh Pandey, priest of Kaleram temple, told that today there is a tradition of celebrating the birth anniversary of Hanuman at the time of sunrise of Chaitra Shukla Purnima. The birth anniversary was celebrated with festivities at Kaleram Temple located on the banks of Saryu. In Brahmamuhurta, consecration and aarti of south facing Hanuman ji was done and Hanuman Katha was narrated. He told that the darshan of South facing Hanuman is very rare. The idol of Hanuman located in Kaleram is the goddess form of Hanuman.
