Toyota is planning to launch 5 new cars in the Indian market by the year 2029 and here we have given information about them.
Over the past few years, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) has largely relied on rebadged models from Maruti Suzuki to boost its sales. But in the coming times, the company will focus more on its own developed vehicles. Toyota may launch five new models in India in the next 2-3 years, most of which will be purely Toyota models.
1. Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella
Toyota will also reveal Ebella prices in India soon. This SUV will be provided with two lithium-iron-phosphate battery packs, which will be connected to the front-axle motor. The 49 kWh battery produces 142 bhp power, while the 61 kWh battery pack generates 171.5 bhp power and 189 Nm torque. This 5-seater electric SUV has a 10.25-inch digital driver display and 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which supports wireless smartphone connectivity. The higher variants also get features like ventilated front seats, ambient lighting, panoramic glass roof, wireless charging and JBL’s premium sound system.
2. New Gen Toyota Fortuner

Toyota may launch the new generation Fortuner in the first half of 2027. Its testing is currently going on in Thailand. The new Fortuner will come with a sharper and more aggressive design than before. A major change will also be seen in the interior. It can get features like 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electric power steering, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS and panoramic sunroof. However, engine and gearbox options are expected to remain the same as the current model.

Toyota may launch a new electric MPV in late 2027 or 2028, which will be based on Maruti Suzuki’s model codenamed ‘YMC’. This MPV is likely to get the same battery and powertrain as the urban cruiser Ebella. In the Indian market, it will compete with the Kia Carens Clavis EV.
4. Toyota Land Cruiser FJ
Toyota may launch the new Land Cruiser FJ in 2028. It will be a body-on-frame SUV positioned below the Fortuner and is likely to be made in India. It can get a 2.7-litre petrol engine, which will give power of 164 hp and torque of 245 Nm. It can be provided with 6-speed automatic gearbox and 4WD system. According to reports, its hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions can also be launched in the future.
5. Toyota Corolla Cross
Toyota Corolla Cross will also come to India, but its launch may happen around 2029. It will be manufactured locally and will be based on the new TNGA-C platform. A 7-seater option can also be found in this SUV. Also, it is likely to be offered with both petrol and hybrid engine options.
