New Delhi . Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra expressed concern over the ongoing conflict in West Asia, saying that it is affecting the global as well as India’s economy. BJD MP Sasmit Patra, while talking to news agency , said that due to the international situation, there are fluctuations in oil prices, which directly impacts import dependent countries like India. In this context, referring to the reduction in excise duty made by the Central Government, he said that due to this the government is expected to suffer a revenue loss of about Rs 3 to 4 lakh crore. Regarding the all-party meeting, Patra said that this meeting was called with the aim of bringing all the political parties together, in which he represented Biju Janata Dal (BJD). Earlier, an important meeting was also organized with the Chief Ministers.
He said, when any international issue affects India’s economy, the central and state governments as well as the opposition and the ruling party should all work together to deal with it. It is important to rise above political differences on such issues and adopt a common thinking and common strategy.
Apart from this, Patra also reacted to a recent tragic incident in Odisha. He said that a few days ago, many innocent people had lost their lives due to fire in the Trauma ICU, which is extremely sad and worrying.
He alleged that despite this serious incident, no responsible officer or leader in the state has taken responsibility for it. He especially raised questions on the role of the Chief Minister and Health Minister of the state and said that it is very important to fix accountability in such incidents.
Let us tell you that 12 patients had officially lost their lives in the fire incident that took place at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack on March 16.
