If you are planning to go to the bank branch to complete any important work in June 2026, then definitely check the list of bank holidays. According to the calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), banks will remain closed for several days in different states due to festivals, religious events and local celebrations. Apart from weekly holidays, banking services will be affected in some states on occasions like YMA Day, Raja Sankranti, Muharram, Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti and Ramna Ni. However, online banking services will continue to operate as usual.

When will banks remain closed in June 2026?

June 15 (Monday)

Banks will remain closed in Aizawl and Bhubaneswar due to YMA Day and Raja Sankranti.

June 25 (Thursday)

Banks will remain closed in Vijayawada on the occasion of Muharram.

June 26 (Friday)

Banks will remain closed in many big cities of the country due to Muharram (Yaum-e-Shahadat), Ashura and the last day of Muharram. These cities include New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Patna, Lucknow, Bhopal, Nagpur, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Jammu, Agartala, Aizawl and Belapur.

June 29 (Monday)

Banks will remain closed in Shimla due to Sant Guru Kabir Jayanti.

June 30 (Tuesday)

Banking services will remain closed in Aizawl due to Ram Na Nain.

Online services will continue

Despite bank branches being closed, customers will be able to use digital services like internet banking, mobile banking, UPI, NEFT, RTGS, ATM and cash deposit machines. However, services that require branch visit – such as check clearance, account opening, document verification and locker operation – will not be available on the holiday.

What should customers do?

Bank customers are advised to settle any branch related work well in advance. Especially, banks will remain closed in many big cities on June 26 due to Muharram, so it is advised not to do any banking activity on that day. Before visiting the bank branch, be sure to check the local holidays for your bank as holidays may vary from state to state. This will help customers avoid inconvenience.
