There is a big news of relief for industrial and commercial LPG customers that the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has removed all the restrictions imposed on the supply of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders for the last two months and has restored the supply to the previous level. This decision has been taken due to reduction in tension in West Asia, opening of the Strait of Hormuz and fall in crude oil prices, due to which import of gas through sea route has now become normal.
City Domestic Cylinder Price Commercial Cylinder Price Delhi Rs 942.0 Rs 3113.5 Mumbai Rs 941.5 Rs 3067.5 Kolkata Rs 968.0 Rs 3256.0 Chennai Rs 957.5 Rs 3283.0 Bengaluru Rs 944.5 Rs 3198.0 Port Blair Rs 1018.0 Rs 3544.0 Noida Rs 939.50 Rs 3113.50 Ghaziabad Rs 939.50 Rs 3113.50 Patna Rs 1031.5 Rs 3400.5
What were the restrictions?
The government had taken a major decision in April amid increasing tension in West Asia after the war between Iran, America and Israel started in February. Under this, a ‘lock-in’ rule of 15 days was implemented to prevent black marketing and hoarding of commercial cylinders. Due to this, any businessman running hotel-restaurant, PG etc. was not able to book another commercial cylinder within 15 days, but now this rule has been removed. Meanwhile, LPG prices remain stable across the country today. In Delhi, the price of domestic gas cylinder is Rs 942 and the price of commercial gas cylinder is Rs 3113.5.
