Health officials say prolonged monsoon rains and stagnant water are creating favorable conditions for Aedes mosquitoes, which spread dengue. The Health and Family Welfare Department has intensified fogging and awareness campaigns to control mosquitoes.
Officials and the Urban Development Department have appealed to people to keep their surroundings clean, remove stagnant water and use mosquito repellents and nets.
Officials have advised to immediately contact a doctor if symptoms like fever, body ache or rashes appear so that complications can be avoided.
