New Delhi, February 11 (IANS). Due to poor lifestyle and eating habits, youth are also suffering from diabetes, thyroid and heart related diseases.

Due to stress and work pressure, both heart and mind are being negatively affected. Every year the death toll of patients suffering from heart diseases is increasing, which includes everyone from children to the elderly. The Indian government continuously runs awareness campaigns to fight diseases, but Ayurveda believes that the cure for all diseases lies in your kitchen.

In Ayurveda, stress and increased accumulation of toxins in the body are considered the cause of heart related diseases. Carelessness in eating habits, packed food, eating too much sugar, stress and lack of sleep invite heart diseases, but you can avoid heart related diseases with some simple things present in the house, in which consumption of pulses and beans is considered to be the most beneficial. Pulses and beans are an important food in the Indian plate, which should be eaten daily as pulses reduce the risk of coronary artery disease.

Apart from this, pulses and legumes contain high amount of soluble fiber which helps in reducing bad cholesterol. Cholesterol is already present in the human body and when cholesterol enters the body with the help of diet, it puts pressure on the blood vessels if it exceeds the prescribed limit. These are the main reasons why the heart is not able to pump blood under pressure and there is nervousness, difficulty in breathing and negative impact on heartbeat.

Pulses and legumes have low glycemic index, which controls diabetes and also controls BP. Now the question is which pulses and beans will be beneficial to consume. Although every pulse has its own properties, but cowpea, lentils, kidney beans, moong, gram and moth pulses are beneficial for the prevention of heart diseases. While making changes in lifestyle, include salad, soup, pulses, fibrous vegetables and brown rice in the diet. Brown rice has anti-cancer properties and antioxidants, which provide many benefits to the body.
