Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Friday said the government has taken a conscious decision to lodge a police complaint and FIR against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) for spreading false and “misleading information” about teachers.

The incident comes after Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal allegedly condemned the BJP-led state government. The government alleges that the government has requested all educational institutions, schools and stadiums to appoint nodal officers for matters related to stray dogs and submit reports on them. “Will teachers in Delhi government schools teach children, or count dogs on the streets?”, Kejriwal wrote in a post on X.

Addressing the media, Sood said the complaint would specifically target “misinformation being spread by the Aam Aadmi Party, especially their national convenor and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal”, and accused the party of deliberately misleading the public through social media platforms.

“The government has taken a conscious decision to register a police complaint, FIR in connection with the dissemination and dissemination of false, misleading and malicious information on social media with reference to teachers by the Aam Aadmi Party, especially their national convenor Arvind Kejriwal,” Sood said.

He alleged that the content being broadcast was aimed at creating confusion and unrest among teachers and the general public, and said that such actions undermine public trust and damage institutional credibility.

Sood said, “I don’t talk much about the unemployed leaders of Delhi. The government has taken a conscious decision to file a police complaint regarding the misinformation being spread about teachers in Delhi.” This time the person spreading fake news is Arvind Kejriwal, who is sitting in Sheesh Mahal, Chandigarh. Arvind Kejriwal spread this misinformation through a tweet.

On December 30, former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Kejriwal slammed the BJP-led state government for allegedly directing all educational institutions, schools and stadiums to designate nodal officers for stray dog-related cases and report on them.

In a post on Facebook, Kejriwal wrote, “Will teachers in Delhi government schools teach children, or count dogs on the streets?” He also attacked the BJP government for “insulting teachers” through this order. Kejriwal wrote, “This order of BJP’s Delhi government exposes their thinking and priorities. Education is not an issue for BJP; these people are insulting teachers and destroying schools.”
