The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken major action against Reliance Group Chairman Anil Ambani. The agency has seized his 17-storey luxurious house ‘Abode’ located in Pali Hill, Mumbai. The price of this property is said to be around Rs 3,716 crore. This action has been taken in a money laundering case related to bank fraud. According to officials, this step has been taken in the matter of loan related to Reliance Communications (RCom).

Why was action taken at Anil Ambani’s house?
ED alleges that Anil Ambani adopted wrong methods to save his properties from lenders. Investigation revealed that the house had been transferred to a private trust named ‘RiseE Trust’. The agency says that this was done so that banks and lending institutions could not take possession of this property. Reliance Communications and its companies have outstanding loans of about Rs 40,185 crore, for the recovery of which the agencies are investigating.
How much property has been seized so far?
The investigating agency is continuously exercising strictness in this matter. ED has so far attached assets worth thousands of crores belonging to Reliance Group. The Supreme Court has also directed to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to expedite this case. Understand the action taken so far from the data given below:

What will happen next?
Anil Ambani’s troubles do not seem to be reducing yet. He has been called for questioning in New Delhi today i.e. Thursday, 26 February 2026. This will be his second round, before this also his statement was recorded in August 2025. According to the rules, if this confiscation order is confirmed in the next 180 days, then ED can start the process of taking complete possession of this property. Anil Ambani’s lawyers have assured the court that they will cooperate fully in the investigation.
