New Delhi. In the National Herald case, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) today presented two important documents before the Rouse Avenue Court of Delhi. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju on behalf of ED presented a complaint filed in this case by Subramanian Swamy in the year 2014 and a document of 30 June 2021 in the court. Both these documents have been included in the record. Along with this, Special Judge Vishal Gogane has directed both these documents to share with all the accused associated with the case including Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. Now the next hearing of the case will be held on 16 September.

Earlier, during the hearing on August 7, the court questioned the investigating officer about the role of Gandhi family in this entire case. Sonia Gandhi’s lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi termed the ED’s action as unexpected. He said that the aim of the young Indian company was to legally abolish AJL’s outstanding debt. At the same time, senior advocate RS Cheema, appearing for Rahul Gandhi, said that the Congress had no intention of selling AJL. The Congress wanted to preserve it as a legacy received from the freedom struggle.

Let us tell you that the National Herald case came to cognizance after a complaint by Subramanian Swamy. He alleged that Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and other Congressmen close to him paid only 50 lakhs and captured AJL’s assets worth Rs 2000 crore. It is worth noting that the National Herald is published by AJL and is owned by Young Indian Private Limited. Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are the biggest shareholders of Young Indian Private Limited. Both of them have 38-38 percent shares.
